Ocean Fish is your seafood producer, supplying you with fresh superior smoked salmon produced at our plant here in Qatar. With our constantly fresh supply of salmon we are also able to supply you with fresh salmon from day to day. We are the first smoked salmon producer in Qatar and the largest in the middle east with a facility of over 4000m2. All our smoking is done by our Danish smokemaster according to old Danish family smoking traditions. Our salmon is supplied by smaller family farms from the very north of Norway to secure the absolute a superior quality. From the salmon is slaughtered till it arrives at our plant in Doha will take a maximum of 48 hours. We are constantly on the move to develop our business range and product to achieve our goal by offering you a competitive and attractive range of products meeting the needs of both today and tomorrow. We are meeting the requirements of customers in retail, foodservice as well as industry. Traditional methods

Each fish is carefully salted or marinated before it is left to dry for several hours. The drying locks in flavours and gives the meat a beautiful colour. The fish intended for smoked products is then smoked. The longer the period of smoking, the more intense the product’s smoky flavour will be. Cold smoking takes place at around 24°C.

Smoked with beech wood

Ocean Fish smokes the salmon over beech wood. Beech wood is a popular choice for smoking, because it burns for a very long time. The beech wood is imported from Germany and shipped to Qatar. After smoking, the skin is removed by machine and the products are trimmed of brown muscle. Prior to packaging, most marinated and cold-smoked products are sliced.

Packaging

Our product are packed in 100, 200 or with variable weight up to 2kg sliced smoked salmon filet. For HORECA costumers we can supply with fixed weight per slice – we are using the latest technology of slicers that will weigh and scan the salmon before slicing. The angle of the knife and thickness of the slices will then be adjusted automatically so all slices with hit the target weight.

An integrated part of Ocean Fish is procedures for ensuring the highest standards within food safety The hygiene when working with food production is an absolute top priority and Ocean Fish has daily procedures for disassembling and cleaning all machines and other production facilities between each daily shift. In food production, good hygiene is of paramount importance and Ocean Fish has daily procedures for the dismantling and cleaning of all machines and other production facilities between each daily shift. These procedures ensure the highest standards in safeguarding a clean production environment that is based on the HACCP system – a systematic, preventive approach to food safety.

Vision

Our vision is to be: The preferable seafood supplier in the middle east Ocean Fish is the only producer of smoked fish in Qatar – and we aim to take a large portion of the exciting market. In the beginning the smoked and fresh Norwegian salmon market I our main focus and will expand the brand to include many other types of fish and more convinient packedges with longer shelf life than the market has to offer today. We aim to expand our position in Qatar and the whole Middle east. A local presence in Doha is central to our strategy.
